During your first visit Dr. Tesoro gathers a comprehensive medical history and conducts and physical exam. There is ample time to discuss his findings and answer your questions. Unless your condition recommends against it, you will be treated on your initial visit. If your condition requires subsequent care, Dr. Tesoro formulates an individualized treatment plan based on your specific needs and goals. Dr. Tesoro will explain the nature of your problem, what therapies he will employ in your treatment, how many visits will be necessary, and how much this investment in your health will cost.
Dr. Tesoro utilizes a variety of treatments and techniques to address each patient’s unique presentation. Chiropractic adjustments may be employed to reduce pain, improve movement, and enhance nervous system function. Soft tissue therapy helps reduce spasms and makes adjustments more effective. Motorized traction can reduce swelling, improve flexibility and help disc herniations. Active assisted stretching, acupuncture, Active Release Technique (ART), ultrasound and muscle stimulation will also be utilized as necessary.
Dr. Tesoro does not require imaging studies as a precursor to treatment. However, if he believes diagnostic studies such as MRI, X-rays or ultrasound are necessary, he will discuss his reasons for ordering these studies.
Dr. Tesoro believes that the patient is best served when health care providers work collaboratively. He has close working relationships with family practice physicians, internists, orthopedists, neurologists, radiologists and mental health providers. If a patient’s condition would benefit from another healthcare provider’s expertise, Dr. Tesoro will not hesitate to make a referral.
